Mick + Maddie | Wedding at The Crane Bay, Indianapolis

Posted in Weddings

I am completely in love with every detail of this swanky, downtown wedding at the Crane Bay in Indianapolis! It all began at the Westin hotel with hair and makeup for the girls, tuxes and bowties for the guys. After the bride put on her gorgeous two piece dress (and probably the most incredible wedding shoes EVER), we headed over to White River State Park for separate photos of the guys and girls before the ceremony. We arrived at The Crane Bay just in time to tuck the bridal party away as guests began to mingle outside the ceremony space, which was industrial, polished and modern all at the same time. As the music began to play, Mick layed eyes on his gorgeous bride for the very first time as she made her way down the aisle. The ceremony was simple, personal and elegant. Mick and Maddie held hands and smiled at each other as they listened to a live acoustic version of a song called “Perfect Love”, which was written by Maddie’s grandfather for her grandmother. (I was definitely getting teared up!) The two then exchanged personal vows which they wrote together. They sealed their commitment with a kiss, headed down the aisle and hopped onto a bus where they were toasted with champagne by their wedding party on our way to the canal for more photos. (I’m kind of still in awe at what a stunning couple they are! Her gorgeous red hair, his dapper tux… its the perfect combination. Not to mention how good they are at that “almost a kiss” moment, which is not something every couple has. They just couldn’t look better together and I am still completely ecstatic that I got to capture it all! But anyway, enough gushing from the photographer.) Once we wrapped the remaining photos at the canal, Mick and Maddie were announced into the reception area which had been completely transformed while we were away. The tables were draped in white textured tablecloths and highlighted with black accent points and white floral arrangements. After guests enjoyed their dinner and the cake was cut, the bride and groom were toasted with heartwarming speeches given by the maid of honor, best man and mother of the groom. The two then enjoyed their first dance together as husband and wife, as well as a father/daughter dance and then a mother/son. Open dancing began soon after and can I just say what an awesome crowd it was! Their friends and family sure know how to cute loose and have a good time! Finally, as the evening began to wind down, a late night snack was served while many of the guests made their way to the cigar bar in the outdoor patio area. It was an absolutely amazing day and I can’t think of any two people who deserve it more. Mick and Maddie, thank you for asking me to capture your wedding story! Congratulations to you both as you start this new chapter of your lives together!
