Indianapolis Bat Mitzvah Photographer – Lawrence Bat Mitzvah
Posted in Bat + Bar Mitzvahs
I have been shooting bat and bar mitzvahs for several years now, and one of the things I like the most about these events is that they are all unique. Last weekend, I had the privilege of photographing a bat mitzvah for the Lawrence family. In leu of a giant party, Erika opted for an intimate luncheon celebration on the day of her bat mitzvah ceremony, followed by Mediterranean cruise which she will take with her family later this year! How awesome is that?! Now, if only I could convince the Lawrence family to hire me to photograph their trip as well 😉
Erika’s bat mitzvah activities began on the Wednesday before her service, where I met up with the Lawrence family for Torah photos in the beautiful stained glass sanctuary at Beth El Zedeck in Indianapolis. Following her actual bat mitzvah service on that Saturday, the celebration continued with a luncheon at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse where the Lawrence family had reserved the entire restaurant for the afternoon. Guests arrived at 1pm and entered into a warm and inviting space with white tablecloths, black napkins and gold accents. A cellist provided lovely background music while guests visited with one another. After everyone had taken their seats, Rick and Katherine gave a sincere welcome to all their friend and family, then Erika serenaded the room with a cello solo of her own! Appetizers, salads and main courses were served soon afterwards while a magician came around to entertain individual tables. There was also a caricature artist available to sketch portraits for each of the guests. Friends and family spent the remainder of the afternoon chatting, mingling and enjoying the lovely ambiance. It was a wonderful beginning to a celebration that will continue on later this summer!
To the Lawrence family, allow me to say “thank you!” for asking me to be a part of this special day and to capture such an incredible moment for your family. I hope you enjoy the following highlights from Erika’s special day!
